Thousand trails follow up!
10/22/2007
Just thought you guys might like to see this. It was published in the letters to the editor section of the Lynchburg News and Daily Advance on Saturday. Hope all is well! Courtney Evans ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Heartfelt thanks My husband died suddenly on May 20, but I was able to feel his presence more strongly than ever on Sept. 22, when my home community of Rustburg and the surrounding areas came together for a benefit in his honor at Thousand Trails. I want to thank everyone involved for making the benefit a huge success. The Worx is a band that is really special to our family, and also to many people as evidenced by the number of fans who attended. I am very grateful also to Thousand Trails, Rustburg Ruritan Club, Vitos Pizza, LE Litchford, Campbell Payne, RSC, Falwell Corporation, WEL, Inc., Rustburg Rescue Squad, Gladys Fire Department, Campbell County Sheriffs Dept., BSW Inc., Gunns Septic Services, Sir Speedy, WSET-TV, Clear Channel Radio, The News & Advance and the Rustburg Reporter. Most of all I want to thank all the awesome, energetic volunteers including the entire Dawson family. I especially want to thank my children and their spouses: Chris and Lisa Dawson, Kevin and Stacy Dawson and their children Crawford, Ally and Sawyer, Dina and Michael Blackstock, and Joey and Marcie Dawson. Without Joey and Marcie, none of this would have happened. When someone passes away, families find different ways to handle their grief. The way my children chose to honor their fathers 59 years on Earth was a positive, healing act of love that gave the entire community a night of fun, family and remembrance. I hope that anyone reading this will take pause to think of how special our families are to us, and to appreciate those we have in our lives each day. JANICE DAWSON Rustburg
